Announcement — November 23, 2021:

Great Lakes Plastic Cleanup collaborative sponsorship

The Great Lakes Plastic Cleanup (GLPC) welcomed TC Energy and Ontario Pumped Storage (OPS) as a Collaborative Sponsor, supporting the initiative’s plastic capture, cleanup, research and community engagement activities over the next four years.

OPS’s commitment to environmental stewardship through collaboration, aligns with the GLPC, a collaborative initiative spearheaded by Pollution Probe and the Council of the Great Lakes Region, and supported by a network of partners, to keep the Great Lakes clean, and to educate and engage communities throughout the region in protecting their waterways from plastic pollution.

News Release — November 8, 2021:

Georgian College building cloud-based database to support local hiring

Georgian College researchers are launching a new multi-stage project with TC Energy to identify local trade, service, and people resource providers within Grey, Bruce and Simcoe counties.

The project is run through Georgian’s Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship department, which supports entrepreneurs, business owners, and industry partners throughout Central Ontario.

November 2021 Community Newsletter

This past July, the Department of National Defence (DND) rendered a decision, which enables continued advancement of OPS at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre (4th CDTC) north of Meaford. This approval followed consultations with Indigenous groups and third-party stakeholders, as well as the DND assessing potential impacts to military operations and training.

Media Advisory — TC Energy Corporation has reached agreement with the Department of National Defence, that subject to conditions and regulatory approval, allows for the development of a transformative 1,000-megawatt clean energy storage project on federal lands.
