Ontario Pumped Storage project advances to the next phase of Impact Assessment
The Ontario Pumped Storage Project has reached an important milestone in the federal Impact Assessment process. The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) has published the Tailored Information and Studies Guidelines (TISG) for the Project and issued a Notice of Commencement for the next phase of the assessment, known as the Impact Statement Phase.
During this phase, TC Energy will continue technical studies and engagement activities while preparing an Impact Statement in accordance with IAAC requirements. The Impact Statement will provide detailed information about the Project, its potential effects, and proposed mitigation measures.
Project-related documents, including the TISG and Notice of Commencement, are available on the Impact Assessment Registry. Additional information and future regulatory filings will continue to be posted on the Registry as the process progresses.
We encourage interested community members to review the available materials and participate in the assessment process. Opportunities for public and Indigenous engagement will continue throughout the regulatory review, and comments can be submitted directly to IAAC through the Project’s Registry page.
