Commencement of federal review process and initial public comment period
TC Energy has officially initiated the Government of Canada’s Impact Assessment process for the Ontario Pumped Storage Project, marking an important milestone in advancing a project that will support economic growth, create good local jobs, and contribute to a reliable and sustainable electricity system for Ontario.
Led by the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC), the federal Impact Assessment process evaluates the potential environmental, social, and economic effects of major projects—considering both benefits, such as jobs and economic opportunities, and potential impacts related to land use, water, traffic, and communities.
Public participation is a key part of this process. From March 6 to April 6, the public is invited to review the Initial Project Description and provide comments to the IAAC.
